Restoring the base and essence of architecture, overturning traditional room partitions for spatial structure, viewing the living space as a canvas, and conveying emotional personality and warmth through the rendering of material textures and craftsmanship.
This particular space is located in the Xindian area, and the homeowner, who works as a designer at 22studio, is involved in product designs often associated with cement materials. In the process of planning the spatial materials, decorative imagery is stripped away, revealing the unadorned ceiling and exposed pipes. Through the use of cement extending into terrazzo materials and craftsmanship, it symbolizes the challenges faced by the homeowner in product design and production, showcasing the homeowner’s individual lifestyle.
The main wall in the hall area and the walnut wood on the study’s facade generate different textural expressions. Simultaneously, the oak solid wood flooring extends with warm color tones, creating a fluent and rich sense of spatial layers. The key lies in preserving ample whitespace, allowing the homeowner to accumulate life experiences and time, arranging records of a life worth savoring. Items such as the cement clock designed by the homeowner, the Vitra sofa, the Wu Xin Shi wooden dining table, the all-brass pendant light, and the plants seamlessly become the decorations of the space, adding a unique and individual touch to the living environment.
