This space reconsiders the relationship between medical personnel and patients and tries to break the stereotype of a normal clinic. It not only reflects the style of a hotel and breaks the cold feeling of a clinic, but also helps change people’s mindset when they have an appointment to see a doctor. When you enter this building, you don’t need to go to a typical registration desk. You won’t even see doctors and nurses walking around. It will make you feel more at home. Relaxation is the beginning of the healing process.
Upon opening the door long closed, you will find the original beam-column features of this old building which offer proportion and the effect of symmetry in many corners. These are usually viewed as adverse elements of design, but are unique to old architecture. Like the saying, “[imperfection] is also one of the qualities of space; if the designer forcibly covers who the view of the space with decor, it’s just masking the space and making it lose its original unique appearance”. This space uses change with no decoration, with the designers discussing whether they can try to maintain the original look of the space, just like a makeup artist, by using light touches to the décor that only highlight the quality of the building’s character.
