Strolling along the rugged creek path, climbing on the bumpy bark and branches, relaxing on the delicate stems of flowers and plants, and catching a breath in the intricate nooks of soil mounds… for a snail living in the forest, this should be a typical daily life.
The design this time draws inspiration from the environment where snails thrive, capturing the essence of the forest and simplifying its elements into the “materials” and “symbols” of the space. It aims to redefine a trendy design with a primal touch, aligning with modern aesthetics.
Starting with the “materials,” the uneven creek path is interpreted with grey-toned floorings mimicking stone patterns and surface materials. The intricate soil mounds are symbolized by wave-shaped panels sprayed with crimson paint, subtly integrated into the compartmental space. To enhance the effect, the “symbols” come into play—bumpy bark and branches are represented by processed and pre-treated branches used as decorative elements, and the delicate stems of flowers and plants are echoed by curved, slender lines of pendant and globe lights.
By employing both “materials” and “symbols,” the space mirrors the growth environment of a snail, exuding a sense of rawness and nature while incorporating modern fashion and simplicity. This restaurant becomes a haven for those seeking a light, fashionable atmosphere within a leisurely pace.
