Blivin Bakery, a fully vegetarian toast specialty shop nestled in the lanes of Taipei’s East District, seeks to create an atmosphere that is subtle and mysterious. Our vision is akin to stumbling upon a delightful café in a Tokyo alley during a journey, blending simplicity and fashion just as Tokyo coffee shops masterfully do. These establishments artfully combine traditional Japanese minimalism with hidden design details that exude a sense of fashion while maintaining an air of secrecy.
We aspire to bring this coffee shop ambiance to Taipei. The first step in creating a Japanese-style simplicity is the use of pristine and subtle wallpapers, clean, mark-free ceilings, and warm wooden shoji doors and interior seats. Building on this foundation, the interplay of shoji door movements and the difference in elevation between the outdoor courtyard and indoor space subtly reveals a sense of concealment and mystery. Finally, large-span curved lighting on the ceiling, coupled with semi-transparent glass bricks, imparts a faint touch of refined fashion to the space.
